Special Benefits for Residents (Affiliate Members)

Full-time residents in approved PM&R residency programs are encouraged to join the Academy as Affiliate members at a reduced cost. Many programs for residents are peer-designed and organized by the Academy’s Resident Physician Council (RPC).

Discounted Program Fees

To promote and facilitate resident participation, the Academy offers residents a significant discount on registration fees for the Annual Assembly and other Academy-sponsored educational programs.

Special Educational Programming

Residents can access a tailored program of educational sessions, business meetings, and social events at the AAPM&R Annual Assembly.  

Career Networking Services

The Online Physiatrists’ Job Board and The Physiatrist newsletter are great sources for announcements of position openings. Residents can also take advantage of networking opportunities at the popular Job Fair at the AAPM&R Annual Assembly and utilize the Career Networking Online Job Board at the meeting.

PM&R Resident e-Newsletter

Published by the RPC, the PM&R Resident e-newsletter is an essential tool for distributing information to PM&R residents nationwide. This quarterly publication includes resident contributions, news about resident-related Academy activities and events and articles of special interest to residents.
 

Medical Students Can Benefit Too!

Full-time medical students interested in the field of PM&R are eligible to join the Academy as student members. Medical Student members receive important publications such as the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and The Physiatrist and are also eligible for discounted fees for Academy educational courses and select products and services.
