Members of the 112th Congress were sworn in on January 5, 2011. The November 2010 election process resulted in the following composition by party affiliation for each chamber: U.S. House of Representatives—241 Republicans and 193 Democrats (with one vacancy); and the U.S. Senate—51 Democrats; 47 Republicans and 2 Independents. AAPM&R’s Health Policy team includes staff in Washington, D.C. who closely monitor and advocate on Capitol Hill for legislation that is vital to the practice of physiatry and quality patient care.
