Career Networking Services at the Annual Assembly

Are you looking to recruit a physiatrist? Employers can participate in the popular Job Fair, the Career Networking Online Physiatrists' Job Board, or reserve an interview room.



Job Fair
Washington State Convention & Trade Center
Wednesday, November 3
6 pm–9 pm

Get a fresh perspective—take your recruiting message to the AAPM&R Job Fair. More than 600 people attend the Job Fair seeking face-to-face exchange of information with employers. Your company's participation can provide an efficient and cost effective way to recruit employees.

For the convenience of the attendees, the employers are broken down geographically from East to West and Midwest to South as well as National. Although interviews are not conducted at the Job Fair, applicants are encouraged to bring ample copies of their curricula vitae.

Be part of this buzzing crowd as they come to greet and meet employers looking to hire PM&R specialists. Sign up today and let our attendees know you'll be there! The deadline for reservations is October 1.

Job Fair Interview Room

An interview room will be available as a service to participants and employers after the Job Fair. Beginning on Thursday and continuing through Sunday, hourly time slots may be reserved 8 am–6 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

Employer Fee

Job Fair Participation: $600 per table

Interview Room Fee

$50 per hour

An Employer Perspective

The Academy does its best to make this event beneficial for all parties involved! This is what Mark J. Goddard, MD stated in 2010 to the Academy; he is Department Chair of PM&R at the University of Cincinnati:

"As an employer, the AAPM&R Job Fair is a good way to meet people who are interested in different regions. This past year (2009) was very successful for us. I met 20 people that evening. Of those people, I spoke to 10-12 further during the Annual Assembly. From that group, I was please enough with 5-6 of them to offer them an opportunity to go through the complete interview process at the university. I ended up recruiting 3 people out of the AAPM&R Job Fair … That face-to-face interaction is important. In our field, you have to have physicians who are empathetic and charismatic and understand people with disabilities. I can't tell (whether someone has those characteristics) over the phone. I need to sit down with somebody and meet with them to see how caring they are."
