In preparation for the 2016 Annual Assembly, the Academy collaborated with a disability affairs specialist in Jefferson Parrish, LA. This representative joined Academy staff on a site visit to New Orleans to tour the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the official Assembly hotels, and the President’s Reception venue to ensure that the 2016 Annual Assembly events are accessible to all participants.
AAPM&R conferences are ADA compliant. We strive to take the appropriate steps required to ensure that no individual with a disability is excluded, denied services, segregated, or otherwise treated differently. Individuals requiring special assistance must contact the AAPM&R Meetings Department for further information and make the appropriate notation on the registration form. All requests for special accommodations under ADA must be made allowing enough time for evaluation and appropriate action by the Academy.
Medical Equipment Requests
Attendees and guests who require special medical equipment during the course of the Annual Assembly are encouraged to order such equipment in advance. Scootaround is the preferred vendor of AAPM&R for Academy events, and recommends making arrangements for equipment 1-2 weeks prior to your arrival in New Orleans.
