Annual Assembly

Accessibility Information

Accessibility at the Annual Assembly

In preparation for the 2017 Annual Assembly, the Academy collaborated with a Universal Design and Accessibility Specialist from the Denver area. This representative joined Academy staff on a site visit to ensure that the 2017 Annual Assembly facilities are accessible to all participants. This thorough assessment was documented in a detailed site survey and is available for review.

ADA Statement

AAPM&R conferences are ADA compliant. We strive to take the appropriate steps required to ensure that no individual with a disability is excluded, denied services, segregated or otherwise treated differently. Individuals requiring special assistance must contact AAPM&R for further information and make the appropriate notation during registration. All requests for special accommodations under ADA must be made allowing enough time for evaluation and appropriate action by AAPM&R.

Medical Equipment Requests

Attendees and guests who require special medical equipment during the course of the Annual Assembly are encouraged to order the equipment in advance. Scootaround is the preferred vendor of AAPM&R and recommends making arrangements for equipment 1-2 weeks prior to your arrival in Denver. Scooter and wheelchair rentals are available by contacting Scootaround at their toll-free hotline at (888) 441-7575.

Accessible Transportation

The Americans with Disabilities Act requires all ground transportation companies to provide wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Below are transportation options that will pick up passengers at the Denver airport, curbside on level 5 on the west-side of Jeppesen Terminal. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Metro Cab: (303) 333-3333
Yellow Cab: (303) 777-7777 (24-hour notice required)
Mobility Transport Service: (303) 295-3900 (24-hour notice required)
Additionally, the airport’s accessible direct rail connection, the University of Colorado A Line, offers convenient access to downtown Denver. For schedules, fare information, and trip planning, visit www.rtd-denver.com.
