Annual Assembly 2018

Annual Assembly

Tips for First-Time Attendees

Networking AttendeesWelcome to your first AAPM&R Annual Assembly! Attending a conference as eventful as the Assembly can be overwhelming, but your Academy is here to help you navigate the program. You'll find some tips below to help make the most of your time in Denver!

Attend the First-Time Attendee Orientation

Be sure to attend the orientation, held Thursday, October 12 from 7:15 am-8 am, where Academy staff and leadership will welcome you and answer questions. You will also have the opportunity to meet other first-time attendees and understand how to use the Academy’s onsite resources. Light breakfast items and refreshments will be served. An invitation with details will be sent to all first-time attendees closer to the Assembly.

Grab a First-Time Attendee Ribbon

Be sure to grab a ribbon as you check in, so other attendees will know you are a first-timer. Physiatrists are a friendly group and eager to meet you!

Visit the Community Network Lounge

The Community Network Lounge is located on the Exhibit Level outside of the PM&R Pavilion, and is a busy spot where attendees catch up with peers and colleagues, hold informal meetings and gatherings, or simply take a quick break from the bustle of the Assembly.

Let Others Know You’re Here!

The Assembly is quite large, but you may find that you already know some familiar faces!

The Annual Assembly app is the easiest way to have the week’s schedule at your fingertips. In addition to the wealth of content and resources available within the app, you can search for attendees and directly contact them through the app’s messaging platform. The app will be available this fall—stay tuned for details!

Also, post a note on the message board at registration to find peers from your city or state, attend your alma mater’s Alumni Reception on Saturday evening, or post a picture to social media and tag #AAPMR2017!
