Performance Measures Resources
This section discusses the use of performance measures for quality improvement, pay-for-performance programs, such as the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI), and health information technology. Performance measurement is the quantitative assessment of health care processes and outcomes for which a health care practitioner, health care organization, or health care system may be accountable. Pay-for-performance is a payment model that joins quality of care with the level of reimbursement for health care services.
