Sports Medicine Supplement and SAE-P Coming Soon!

Your Academy is excited to announce a new sports medicine supplement and self-assessment examination for practitioners (SAE-P), Advanced Sports Medicine Concepts and Controversies, which will accompany the March PM&R Journal.

The supplement, guest edited by Academy Board member Jonathan Finnoff, DO, includes more than 30 SAE-P questions to assess your knowledge. This supplement touches on topics including the evolution of PM&R in sports medicine, exercise testing, hip girdle pain, exercise-associated collapses, concussion management, high risk stress fractures, and more. The Sports Medicine SAE-P, which will be available in the mē® Catalog, offers up to 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and helps fulfill your American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) MOC Part II requirement.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
