March 1, 2016

On February 29, 2016, AAPM&R submitted the following comment to CMS regarding the Draft Quality Measure Development Plan (MDP).

View the comment letter.

The MDP is an overview of known measurement and performance gaps, as well as recommendations from CMS on how to close those gaps through development, use and refinement of quality measures. The purpose of the MDP is to meet the requirements of the MACRA and serve as a strategic framework for the future of clinician quality measure development to support MIPS and APMs.

The final MDP will be posted on the CMS website on May 1, 2016. Your Academy will closely monitor this effort and advocate for effective and efficient ways for all physiatrists to meet MIPS requirements.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
