The Academy has released a new Evidence-Based Medicine Course on

Evidence-Based Medicine is a systematic approach to clinical problem-solving that allows the integration of the best available research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values. Physicians today face challenges when trying to keep up with the numerous amounts of new information on the latest drugs, technology, and research. It is estimated that a mere 10% of medical articles published to databases every day are directly relevant to patient care. Evidence-based medicine provides doctors with a methodology to manage this vast amount of data.

This activity consists of three modules:

  • An Introduction to the Basics of Evidence-based Medicine (28 minutes)
  • How to be a Savvy Consumer of Literature (53 minutes)
  • Appraisal of Clinical Practice Guidelines (50 minutes)

This activity is available to Academy members only and is worth up to 2.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
