AAPM&R Members Attend Virtual Town Hall About Payment Accuracy for Mobility Impairment

Members & Publications

March 13, 2017

On March 8, AAPM&R hosted a Virtual Town Hall meeting to engage members in a discussion about payment accuracy for the care of people with mobility-related disabilities. Members who participated in the town hall were able to provide staff with new insights on this important issue. Armed with member feedback, AAPM&R staff and a representative from The Reimbursement and Policy Review Committee will attend a meeting at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) office in Baltimore, MD on Wednesday March 15. We look forward to updating the membership about this important meeting in the coming weeks.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
