Paralympics2018While we’re sad that the 2018 Winter Olympics are over, there’s still fun to be seen! The 2018 Paralympics Winter Games run March 9-18 in PyeongChang. Who’s watching?

Danielle SaenzAAPM&R resident member Danielle Saenz, DO, who is a PGY3 at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, was chosen by the International Paralympic Committee to be a guest blogger in partnership with Samsung. She will be traveling to PyeongChang to share the stories of challenge, triumph, hardship, and success of the very talented athletes participating in the Paralympic Games.

Her goal is to raise awareness for adaptive sports and encourage a larger audience to watch the Paralympic Games. “I am beyond excited for this opportunity to exhibit athletes of all abilities on a global platform,” says Dr. Saenz.

We’re excited for Dr. Saenz and can’t wait to watch the games!

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
