  • David Crandell, MD, FAAPMR, clinical co-director for the Dean Center for Tick Borne Illness at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, was a recent guest speaker on a radio segment where he discussed Lyme disease and how it affects the body. Read more.
  • Michael Fredericson, MD, FAAPMR, professor and director of PM&R Sports Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, served as the co-principal investigator for the Stanford Study, A Prospective Study to Improve Bone Health and Reduce Incidence of Bone Stress Injuries in Pac-12 Female Distance Runners, funded through the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being Grant Program. Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
