Scott F. Nadler, DO, Research Grant

Past Grant Recipients

The PASSOR Research Grant Award has been renamed to honor Scott F. Nadler, DO, his life, his research, and many contributions to the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.  Dr. Nadler was a treasure to all who knew him and was a tremendous role model, mentor, and friend to so many in PASSOR.  We all will miss him greatly.

The PASSOR Research Committee will award up to $10,000 as seed money for bona fide research. Applicants must be PASSOR members.

Grant funding may be used to establish a track record and obtain pilot results for larger sources of funding. Applicants with other sources of funding with an appropriate application and additional, legitimate budget needs will also be considered. For multi-year projects, funding for one year will be dispersed in the first year and so forth.

For consideration by the Research Committee, members should submit original application, IRB materials, outcome tools, consent form and conflict of interest statement. Proposals that include the use of human subjects must have approval from the Institutional Review Board for Human Subjects. Proposals that include use of animals must have approval from the Institutional Review Board.

Research must be presented at the AAPM&R Annual Assembly the following year after receiving the award. All results must be submitted to PM&R. The journal will launch in January 2009 as the official journal of AAPM&R. The Academy will begin accepting submissions in January 2008. All publications resulting from research funded by the PASSOR grant must acknowledge PASSOR support.

Grant applications must be submitted by February 15. To download the application (Word document) click here.
