Establishing A
Non-Accredited Fellowship Training Program
The Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and
Occupational Rehabilitation (PASSOR), an official council of AAPM&R, is
addressing the growing trend toward achieving subspecialty certification in
pain medicine and fellowships pursuing accreditation through the Accreditation
Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as pain medicine training
programs. In an effort to support and facilitate this trend, PASSOR and AAPM&R
are developing guides for establishing accredited fellowships for pain
medicine and other non-accredited training programs.
This document is a step-by-step guide to establishing a
non-accredited fellowship training program.
