Ride for Rehab Announces Competition Winners
As you may already know, Joel Press, MD,
immediate past president of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), completed a cross-country bicycle ride called the
Ride for Rehab. The ride was
designed to raise awareness of the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation
and to raise funds for outcomes research through the Foundation for Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation (FPMR).
The AAPM&R Resident Physician Council
endorsed Dr. Press’ efforts and held a contest to see which program could raise
the most funds. We tallied the total donations each month and watched them grow.
Several residency programs held fundraising events that were profiled in past
issues of this newsletter:
In the end, we raised a total of $22,623.95
toward outcomes research in PM&R. The top 10 donors are listed below:

their joint fundraising effort, the “Mini-Ride for Rehab.”
Congratulations are due to organizers at each
program: Drs. Daniel Roth and Sarah Eickmeyer at RIC, Drs. Waqaas Quraishi and
Kevin Dunn at Long Island Jewish, Dr. Mel Gong at Sinai-Baltimore, and Dr. Jay
