General and Medical Rehabilitation is provided by the vast majority of physiatrist who care for patients in all clinical settings including private practice, academic, and veterans administration. Such settings may be rural or urban and inpatient our outpatient. This segment of rehabilitation medicine incorporates all aspects of rehabilitation including the care patients with medically complex rehabilitative needs such as those with major trauma, cardiopulmonary disorders, advanced age, cancer, amputations, and burns.
