Welcome to AAPM&R’s Virtual Hill Day web page! We appreciate your office’s attention to issues important to physiatry and rehabilitation patients.
AAPM&R is the national medical specialty organization representing more than 10,000 physicians who are specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). PM&R physicians, also known as physiatrists, are medical experts in treating a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. PM&R physicians evaluate and treat injuries, illnesses, and disability, and are experts in designing comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans. Physiatrists utilize cutting‐edge as well as time‐tested treatments to maximize function and quality of life.
This year’s top priorities for our virtual DC fly-in on April 27th, 2022 include:
- Advancing access to multidisciplinary care for individuals with Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC) or "Long COVID" by supporting the TREAT Long COVID Act (H.R. 7482 / S. 4015).
- Streamlining prior authorization by supporting the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 3173 / S. 3018).
- Opposing further physician reimbursement cuts and encouraging a long-term solution to budget neutrality.
