PM&R Journal's Impact Factor Continues to Climb

ImpactFactor-2019Each year, the impact factor of PM&R—your Academy’s official scientific journal—has continued to increase. This year is no exception! We are happy to announce that PM&R just received its 2018 Impact Factor of 1.902—the highest impact factor for PM&R to date. The Journal Impact Factor (Journal Citation Reports, Clarivate Analytics, 2018) is a citation metric that provides a relative measure of the quality of papers published. It is a ratio of the total number of citations received in a given year relative to the number of papers published during the 2 preceding years.

This new milestone further elevates PM&R's stature among the best-of-the-best prestigious scientific journals, while continuing to promote the important work of physiatry.

The Academy launched this peer-reviewed journal in 2009 specifically for the physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. PM&R was selected for MEDLINE indexing later that year. The goal of the publication is to advance education and impact the specialty through the timely delivery of clinically-relevant and evidence-based research and review information.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
