Multi-Disciplinary PASC Collaborative Update

The collaborative led by AAPM&R is working to publish guidance on a rolling basis. Writing groups are working within a consensus process with 3 waves. The Cognitive Impairment writing group is set to meet this week to finalize its manuscript for publication. All 26 participating Post COVID clinics are preparing for the next full collaborative scheduled to be held on July 13.

AAPM&R Submits Comments Following COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force Meeting

On June 25, we attended the 5th COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force meeting. This meeting focused on task force recommendations addressing the inequities and the impact of Long COVID, and access to personal protection equipment, testing and therapeutics. Concluding this meeting we submitted our comments and urged the task force to include the Academy as a member of any federal advisory committee as they continue to consider policies to address Long COVID.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
