AAPM&R Invites Physiatrists to Be PM&R Bold

July 22, 2016

PMR-Bold_VisioningAAPM&R is championing a new initiative—Visioning PM&R Bold—to help define the future of PM&R.

We know the health care landscape is changing quickly and challenging the way medicine has always been practiced. As the primary medical society for the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation, AAPM&R wants physiatrists to be bold in the future health care landscape.

  • What do the physiatric practice models look like in the future of medicine?
  • How will you practice, where, and with whom?

These are some of the questions that Visioning PM&R Bold needs your input to help answer!

We will be hosting a series of events where physiatrists will come together—in exciting, interactive live and online environments—to collaborate on a shared vision for the future of the specialty. Additional information will be coming soon from your Academy, including invitations to participate in surveys and Virtual Town Halls.

Be PM&R Bold! Together, we can start to define the vision…for our patients, for our specialty, and for YOUR future.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
