PM&R Knowledge NOW® Accepting Author Applications

Participate in the Spring 2017 PM&R Knowledge NOW® Writing Cycle by applying to be an author of a 1,700-word summary of a clinical topic.

View a list of topics available for development or refresh. If you see a topic that interests you, fill out an application.

Please Note: Only Fellow Members of the AAPM&R may serve as an author of a topic. 

You may apply for 5 topics at a time, and we will only keep your most recent application on file. If you are not chosen to develop a topic you applied for, you may be assigned another, related topic. Editorial Board Leaders will review all applications and selected candidates will be notified by Academy staff via email.

For Residents: Residents may serve as a co-author only. The physician lead author applicant must identify any co-authors (residents or physicians) on the application. All co-authors will be recognized as a contributor to the published topic summary.

Applications are due by February 7, 2017.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
