ACCME-commendation-full-colorOn March 23, 2018, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) awarded AAPM&R Accreditation with Commendation for the next 6 years. A large portion of providers typically receive four-year terms. This is the third time AAPM&R has received commendation.

By achieving this recognition, the Academy’s educational activities have shown to be based on a learner-centered, continuous improvement model of Continued Medical Education (CME), by providing educational content that address physicians’ real-world practice needs, regardless of their scope of practice. Through the ACCME’s Reaccreditation process, the Academy demonstrated that its activities support physician learning by offering educational content designed to change physicians’ competence, performance, and patient outcomes, and has implemented educational strategies to address, remove or overcome barriers to physician change.

The Accreditation with Commendation decision was based on a rigorous, multilevel process for evaluating continuing medical education programs according to high-accreditation standards. This includes a comprehensive self-study report of AAPM&R’s CME program, evidence of performance-in-practice, and the accreditation interview.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
