AAPM&R’s Registry offers you a means to report and attest your data to CMS in every category of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

According to the 2017 PM&R Physician Compensation Survey Report, the average physiatrist will receive an $8,800 negative payment adjustment if they do not fulfill their MIPS requirements in 2018. Participation in the Academy's Registry costs as little as $295 and can save you thousands of dollars in MIPS penalties each year.

Plus, the Academy's Registry now includes 5 new physiatry-focused measures which can be used to track patients undergoing management for stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis. These are in addition to 8 spine-focused measures!

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
