June 12, 2018

The AAPM&R Physiatrist-in-Training (PHiT) Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the PHiT Board. Any interested, current AAPM&R residents and those in fellowship may apply at this time*.

PhiT_rgbConsideration shall be given to those candidates with previous PHiT service, strong organizational and leadership qualities, a strong participation track record and a willingness to serve. If elected, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience, insight into the specialty of PM&R, and serve on behalf of your resident and associate fellow membership.

All nominations, including personal statements and CVs, must be received no later than August 1, 2018* for Executive Committee (officer) positions or August 10, 2018 for committee/liaison positions. The election of officers (president, vice president, secretary) will be by a simple plurality in response to a ballot that will be sent via email to all resident and associate fellow members in August. The Nominating Committee (with approval from the Academy’s Board of Governors) will select those candidates for the committee and liaison positions.

Please complete the online submission form to be considered by the PHiT Nominating Committee for an open position.

If you are submitting a nomination for an officer position and would like to be considered for a committee/liaison position (if you are not selected for an officer), you must enter that information by August 1 as well. Please see the position descriptions and the PHiT Nominating Committee timeline for more details.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
