Q: Is participation in the Registry only for AAPM&R members?
A: No. Any provider who wishes to participate in the Registry can. There are special incentives for eligible Academy members and their practices to participate.
Q: Will there be a different pricing structure for large institutions who sign up many participants?
A: Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for details.
Q: Who owns the data in the Registry?
A: Participating sites own their own data. AAPM&R owns the aggregate, de-identified data from the Registry.
Q: Do I need to be a certain kind of physician to participate?
No, any physician can participate. The Registry includes a wide range of measures, with more to come soon.
Q: What's the burden for my practice to participate?
A: The goal of the Registry is to be as least burdensome as possible for practices utilizing technology with the Registry vendor to extract data from electronic health records.
Q: Do I need to obtain consent from my patients to participate?
A: No. This is a prospective registry for quality improvement. Quality improvement work is not research, and is therefore exempt from human subjects and research regulations.
