MIPS 2023 Data Submission Now Open Until April 15

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has extended the data submission period for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) eligible clinicians who participated in the 2023 performance year of the Quality Payment Program (QPP).

Data can now be submitted and updated until 8:00 pm ET on April 15.

How to Submit and Review Your 2023 MIPS Data

Follow the steps outlined below to submit data:

  1. Go to the Quality Payment Program sign in page.
  2. Sign in using your QPP access credentials.
  3. Submit your MIPS data for the 2023 performance year or review the data reported on your behalf by a third party. (You can’t correct errors with your data after the submission period, so it’s important to make sure the data submitted on your behalf is accurate.)

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
