Seeking Leadership Program Applicants

The AAPM&R Leadership Program is a prestigious, 2-year program that identifies and develops a limited number of early-career physiatrists, connects them with seasoned Academy leaders and leadership development professionals, and prepares them to engage in Academy volunteerism and assume future leadership positions. We're now accepting applications for our 2017-2019 Academy Leadership Program class—learn more and apply by March 31, 2017.

We're currently seeking 2 candidates to serve in the member-at-large role of the Practice Preparedness Committee. You receive a complimentary self-assessment each year that you renew your membership. But you don’t have to use it right away. We’ll keep it in your account until you’re ready to use it. What is the Spine Quality Outcomes Database (SQOD)?

The SQOD is a clinical data registry, created by AAPM&R and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), that will follow individuals with spine related issues longitudinally. The collected data will have the ability to advance the understanding of the ever-growing spine patient population while demonstrating the quality and value of treatments. Oregon to Reconsider Coverage of Low Back Pain Injections

After hearing statements on February 2 from physicians, patients, and experts, the Oregon Health Authority’s (OHA) Evidence-based Guidelines Subcommittee (EbGS) has elected to reconsider its initial ruling, and explore more thoroughly the research that demonstrates lumbar radicular pain relief provided by transforaminal epidural steroid injections.
