This course brings together pediatric physiatrists and interdisciplinary experts for collaborative, community-driven learning on emerging approaches to patient care. Topics include behavioral and developmental assessment for medically complex patients; multidisciplinary care for functional neurological disorders and spina bifida; and rehabilitation strategies across settings, including burn rehabilitation and pelvic floor biofeedback for bowel and bladder dysfunction. Through didactic sessions and panel discussions, participants will gain practical insights, learn from interdisciplinary perspectives, and build connections within the pediatric rehabilitation community to support patient-centered care.

Anyone who's primary practice is Pediatric Rehabilitation.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply behavioral assessment strategies to develop management approaches for medically complex pediatric patients, based on principles discussed in the behavioral health session.
- Differentiate key components of developmental and neuropsychological assessment in pediatric populations and identify appropriate referral or intervention pathways.
- Evaluate multidisciplinary care models for functional neurological disorders (FND) and spina bifida by identifying roles of team members and integration strategies discussed in panel sessions.
- Summarize emerging surgical and rehabilitation approaches for pediatric neurologic conditions and describe their implications for PM&R practice.
- Incorporate resilience-building and goal-setting techniques into clinical practice or team leadership to support patient and provider outcomes.
