AAPM&R Membership After Residency

Question Mark

Did You Know—Are you seeing "Fellow Member" on your membership invoice? That means you are now board-certified, which places you into our Fellow Member category of AAPM&R—it does not relate to being in fellowship training. Fellow members enjoy the same membership benefits as those in training and are now eligible to hold leadership positions, as well as add "FAAPMR" to their credentials.

Let's Advance Together

Upon your residency graduation, there is so much to do and never enough time to get it all done. That’s where we come in. We spoke with residents and early-career physiatrists to understand the challenges you face and the resources you need to successfully transition into practice.

As your primary medical society, AAPM&R’s mission is to lead the advancement of physiatry’s impact throughout health care. That starts with investing in the future of our specialty—you! AAPM&R is excited to offer two membership pathways to graduating PM&R residents—the Fellowship Pathway and the Practice Pathway.

Upon completion of the Practice Pathway, you will be eligible to earn a free Annual Assembly, as long as membership is maintained continuously after residency (check out the timelines below for details)!
