AAPM&R is Committed to Equity, Inclusion and Respect for Human Dignity and Condemns Religious Intolerance

Members & Publications

November 16, 2023

Rosemont, IL, November 16, 2023 – In recent weeks, the United States has experienced an increase in religious intolerance, hateful rhetoric and violence. AAPM&R condemns racism and expressions of hate, bias and discrimination in all forms because it hurts our members, our patients and our communities.  We strongly condemn Antisemitism. We strongly condemn Islamophobia.

AAPM&R remains steadfast in our commitment to equity and inclusion, and respect for human dignity. To our Jewish and Muslim members, as well as all others affected, please know that the Academy shares your grief and mourns with you over the loss of life, violence and hatred stemming from religious intolerance. We ask all of our members to join us in our commitment to these core values.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
