On September 3, your Academy submitted a letter to several Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) medical directors in support of a draft local coverage determination (LCD) expanding coverage of knee orthoses. The draft LCD includes coverage for knee orthoses to beneficiaries with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee which has, to-date, not been covered under Medicare.
