Position Summary
The Education Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a variety of AAPM&R’s educational programming. Reporting to the Manager of Education and supporting the entire Education Department, this position coordinates the development, delivery, and maintenance of digital, virtual, and in-person educational activities, including online enduring content, live virtual programs, and components of the Annual Assembly. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong project coordination skills, enjoys working collaboratively with physician volunteers and cross-functional staff teams and brings enthusiasm for educational product development in a member focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager of Education with the development and implementation of the educational activities within the Academy’s Online Education Subscription, including case studies, instructional videos, podcasts, presentation modules, and other product lines.
- Support the operational aspects of the Academy’s Online Learning Portal and Mobile App, including entering product information into iMIS, building products in the learning management system (LMS), and coordinating with Marketing and Customer Service teams.
- Support the development and maintenance of online educational content by tracking expiration dates for products in the LMS and collaborating with volunteer faculty and internal teams to create new products and update or renew existing materials.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of live virtual events, including ongoing webinars, virtual conferences, and longitudinal virtual programs.
- Work closely with the other team members of the Education and Meeting departments to support the development and implementation of other educational activities, including the Annual Assembly, STEP Certificate Programs, virtual conferences, and other standalone offerings.
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Educational Content Advisory Committee (ECAC).
- Provide administrative and logistical support for in-person courses and committee meetings, including preparation of materials, signage, name badges, and shipments.
- Respond to questions via email and phone regarding the Academy’s educational offerings, CME Credits, and product access.
- Assist with departmental administrative tasks for the Education Team, including expense reports, invoice processing, and general office coordination.
- Ensure all activities are in accordance with Academy processes and policies, in compliance with ACCME accreditation requirements, and copyright permissions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Education, Director, Education, or the Associate Executive Director, Education.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 2 years of association management experience.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Demonstrated interest and passion for educational content design and delivery.
- Comfortable with a collaborative team approach within the department and across the organization.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while responding in a timely manner to multiple priorities and requests.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong customer service focus; understands member-based organizations and the unique and ever-changing balance that must be struck between rules and exceptions.
- Professional, courteous demeanor with strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with physician volunteers and committees.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High degree of computer literacy and strong data entry skills.
- Ability to learn key organizational systems, including iMIS 20 (AMS) and Oasis (LMS).
AAPM&R Offers
Based on experience and skillsets, the compensation range for the Coordinator, Education position is $50,000-$60,000 per year and the following benefits:
