Join CMS on May 11th to Learn More about Group Participation in MIPS

On Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. ET, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host a webinar to provide more information on group participation in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), which is one path of the Quality Payment Program.

During the webinar, CMS will provide an overview of group participation in MIPS and highlight requirements for participation, including:

  • Individual vs. Group Participation
  • Group Participation Requirements
  • Performance Category Measures
  • Data Submission Mechanisms
  • Payment Adjustments
  • Dates to Remember

Clinicians will also have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
