Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Data Submission Rollout Announcement

Members & Publications

January 18, 2018

CMS has launched a new data submission system for clinicians participating in the 2017 Quality Payment Program (QPP). Clinicians can now submit all of their 2017 MIPS data through one platform on the QPP website up to the deadline of March 31, 2018, with the exception of CMS Web Interface users whose time frame to report quality data is from January 22, 2018 to March 16, 2018.

  • Quality performance category.  For this category, if you have already reported quality data via the claims reporting mechanism, no further action is required; CMS will calculate a score based on your reported claims data, but information regarding this calculation will not appear in the data submission system.
  • Advancing Care Information and Improvement Activities performance categories. Attestations for these categories can be done through the data submission system.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
