The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Effective Health Care (EHC) Program is interested in receiving supplemental evidence and data (SEADs) for systematic reviews that are relevant to the questions in their evidence reports. To ensure that it has full access to relevant research, whether or not it is published, the EHC Program is interested in receiving SEADs containing detailed study-specific information on the following opportunities that are relevant to physiatry:

Prehabilitation and Rehabilitation for Major Joint Replacement
Available for submission until August 11, 2020

This systematic review will assess the evidence about prehabilitation and rehabilitation options for patients who are undergoing (or have undergone) elective, unilateral, total knee or hip replacement surgery for osteoarthritis.

Disparities and Barriers for Pediatric Cancer Survivorship Care
Submission deadline extended until August 14, 2020

This review will provide an overview of the existing evidence and forthcoming research relevant to disparities and barriers for pediatric cancer survivorship care, outline open questions and offer concrete guidance for future research.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
