The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) at its recent December 8, 2016 meeting received presentations on recommendations for IRF, SNF, and Home Health payments. The Chair provided the following recommendations:

• Inpatient Rehab Facility (IRF) – Five Percent (5%) 2018 payment cut and implement a two-year rebasing of the payment system
• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) – No 2018 payment update
• Home Health – No 2018 payment update

MedPAC Commissioners debated the recommendations and decided to come back with revised recommendations for consideration at their January 2017 meeting.
