CDC Meeting: Process and Progress for Updating the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is hosting a virtual meeting of the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (BSC/NCIPC) on July 16, 2021 from 10 am - 4:50 pm (ET). The meeting will provide an overview of the process and progress for updating the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids and discussion of the BSC Opioid Workgroup’s report of the draft Guideline.

This event is open to the public, limited by the capacity of the conference webinar, which is 2,000 participants. Click here to pre-register, as required to participate.

The public is encouraged to register to provide public comment using the registration form. After the presentations and updates, a public comment period will be held from 2:15-4:15 pm (ET). Individuals wishing to pre-register for public comment must do so by 5 pm (ET), Monday, July 12, 2021.

During the public comment portion on the agenda, registered individuals will be called upon to speak based on the order of registration, followed by others from the public. All public comments will be limited to two minutes per speaker.

Individuals can submit written comments on or before July 23, 2021 by submitting comments to ncipcbsc@cdc.gov. All written comments will be included in the meeting minutes.
