The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced two important updates for the 2024 Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance year.

• The deadline for submitting and updating MIPS data has been extended to April 14, 2025, 8 pm (ET), delaying the final score release and Targeted Reviews.
• CMS is reopening the 2024 MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) Exception applications due to the national IV fluid shortage. Applications can be submitted between March 31 and April 14, 2025.
