Physicians participating in Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs) have experienced a degree of uncertainty about incentive payments over the last year. However, with the recent enactment of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, physicians and other clinicians will be eligible for a 3.1 percent Advanced APM Incentive payment in 2028 if they qualify for the Advanced APM Track based on performance in 2026. This comes after Congress did not provide for an Advanced APM Incentive payment for 2027 based on performance in 2025. For more information about APMs, visit the Academy website.
