Introducing the New AAPM&R Innovators & Influencers Honoree Program!

We want to feature the amazing work of our early- and mid-career members and the impact they are making in the field of PM&R. The new Innovators and Influencers Honoree Program seeks to do just that!

Do you know someone who has accomplished something innovative or influential within PM&R or to support the PM&R patient population? Let’s recognize their contributions to the specialty!

We are now accepting nominations and self-nominations for AAPM&R members from PGY3 through 15 years in practice.

Nominations are currently closed.
Stay tuned for when we announce the inaugural class of honorees in May 2024!

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be a member of AAPM&R
    • PGY3 through 15 years post residency are eligible for the honor.
  • Accomplished something innovative or influential within the specialty of PM&R or to the PM&R patient population. Categories include but are not limited to:
    • Clinical Innovation
    • Practice Innovation
    • Specialty Advocacy
    • Patient Advocacy
    • National Education
    • National Service
    • Specialty Awareness/Expansion
    • Mentorship
    • Community Programming/Involvement
    • Patient Education
  • Nomination form to be completed by the nominee or on behalf of someone else.

Innovators & Influencers Honoree Timeline

September 2023

The call for Innovators & Influencers Honoree nominees is launched!

November 2023

The call for Innovators & Influencers Honoree nominees closes on November 30.

March 2024

The nominees are then notified of the results of their nomination by approximately March 1.

May 2024

Recognition of our 2024 Innovators & Influencers will begin in May!

Innovators & Influencers Application Review Workgroup Structure

Volunteer PM&R physician leaders will review and evaluate all applications received for acceptance into the Innovators & Influencers program based on the criteria listed below. The workgroup will prepare and send accepted applicants to the Inclusion & Engagement Committee for final confirmation. Members from the following committees, supporting the Inclusion and Engagement Committee, will comprise of a workgroup to review all of the applications received. The workgroup will make a recommendation of final honorees to the Inclusion and Engagement Committee for final confirmation.
