Call For #AAPMR20 Proposals and Abstracts

Members & Publications

December 16, 2019

The 2020 AAPM&R Annual Assembly will take place in San Diego, California on November 12-15. We need your expertise to make #AAPMR20 even better than ever, with evidence-based content tailored to the specialty, presented by diverse faculty across all career levels and practice areas.

Team Physiatry is our theme for #AAPMR20, with content focused on teamwork and how physiatrists manage the care team to increase optimal patient outcomes. When submitting your proposal or abstract, think about the diversity of the specialty as well as these factors that the Program Planning Committee will consider when selecting Team Physiatry content:

  • Include faculty from both genders
  • A mix of experienced and junior faculty, and Advanced Practice Providers
  • Topics: Population Health, Inpatient and Outpatient Settings, and Point/Counterpoint sessions on Medical Marijuana, Chronic Opioid Management: Stop or Not to Stop, and IRF vs. SNF Care After Disability
Learn more here. Submit your session and Community proposals by January 3 or your abstract by March 6.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Nov 09, 2020

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills.

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
